Our hospitals across the state are at risk of closing due to a lack of funding. This directly impacts people’s lives and leads to a higher death rate. As your representative, I will fight to ensure our local hospitals receive the dollars they need to stay open. 

Our nutrition and health assistance programs, such as SNAP, are being stretched thin. Oklahoma’s largest employers are paying substandard wages and classifying workers as part-time to avoid providing health insurance. This pushes employees onto SoonerCare and public assistance despite their willingness to work. These corporations need to start doing their part so Oklahomans can thrive - hopefully voluntarily, but by legislation if necessary.

Oklahoma already has a state-level health insurance marketplace through the Affordable Care Act. Instead of putting more money into SoonerCare, let’s switch our funding to that marketplace and use our federal partnership. This will make overall plans cheaper and give people more control over their health insurance.
